When I was a graduate student at Rutgers University in New Jersey where I studied city planning, I entered the program with a strong interest in transit-oriented development. I was excited to be going to school in a state with one of the busiest commuter railroads in the U.S. I loved the idea of living in a state where I could access reliable transit for everyday needs and not own a car.
